Coynes and Company’s business relied on a mix of legacy applications including heavily modified packaged software and a wide range of custom modules and systems. Over the years, many different employees and consultants had their fingers in the system with no enforced for coding standards or practices, documentation, etc. This made understanding, much less supporting the systems, a very difficult task at times.
When their consultant of many years had to move on and could no longer support them, Coynes turned to JDB to manage their complex environment. JDB provided day to day support for the applications and hardware including:
- Support of Sequel reports and update processes.
- Hardware support of AS/400 including planning and support during move to a new facility.
- Developed a secure FTP process to push item and customer information to a third party web tool.
- Data reporting and extraction for business purposes – sales, customers. Extracted data to Excel pivot tables and provided it to management in an easy to manage format.
- Support physical inventory and transfer of all items to a new warehouse facility.
- Program/bug fixes as needed. Programs were dated and data corruption and issues were not uncommon.
With legacy consultants with deep experience, JDB had no problem support all of Coyne's systems and users.
